Ready. Set. Engage | A 25-MINUTE WORKOUT AND MEDITATION ROUTINE TO START THE DAY

By Dominick H.

My eyes open up. I stare at the ceiling into blank space. And then, like most, my mind starts to race around and think about all the things I need to do today: make breakfast, make lunch, do laundry, make dinner reservations for me and my girlfriend's date night, run other errands, and let's not forget the good ol' work grind. All that, plus all the other things I'm planning for my life and the fact that I get sucked into the world of social media looking at Kylie Jenner's latest California Romp, seeking out beautiful food pics, or ogling some fashion designer's new collection on Instagram for another 10 minutes. And in the blink of an eye, 25 minutes have passed since I've been up. And now it's time to get moving for the day, and magically, I'm running late. But here presents another problem: I have to make time to workout, exercise, and meditate. Like I, legit, HAVE TO make time to do these things. My body needs it. My mind needs it. And it's pretty much how I function. And it's my version of wake and bake.

So here's my solution. I developed a 25-minute workout and meditation plan that helps me feel good in the morning and gives me enough energy to start my day. It's not your killer make you drip sweat workout. Neither is it an intense super-scientific meditation practice with lots of visualization and breathing techniques. This here is simple stuff. Anyone can do it. And here's how I kick it off.

Lazy Won't Make You Fit | 3 TIPS FOR SHAKING OFF LAZINESS & BECOMING MORE ACTIVE

By Dominick H.

Toned arms, rippling abs, tanned skin. Yes, a quick trip to the beaches of Miami got us thinking. What does it really take to be "fit?" Life offers us so many distractions, that sometimes it seems impossible to get it done and incorporate a workout routine on top of it all. If you're like us, then you’re finally starting to realize that sitting on the couch every night and binge watching season after season of TV’s super-amazing shows are not making you more fit. Those memes we love on social media are not getting your chest and arms jacked up, nor are they giving you those toned abs and butt you’ve been dying for. Truth be told, they are just giving you more reasons to be lazy: feel me?  And let’s not even begin to mention the long days many of us work. 10, 12 and 14-hour days are the bane of our existence, but many of us have to do it (and for those of us that don’t struggle with long work days, you especially have no excuse). That body won’t be physically fit and beautiful forever. Life definitely starts to take hold and change us. School, work, kids, demands of society, lifestyle, it all ages us and weakens us over time: not right away, but over time. So it’s important to incorporate some form of physical fitness into our lives to get a jump start on life, longevity, and empowered living. But how do we do that?

the Power Of Yoga | MASTER YOUR BODY. MASTER YOUR MIND. MASTER YOUR LIFE.

By Dominick H.

Whitney Richardson / New York Times

Yoga. A word that has its history buried deep into the fabric of this world. Today, yoga has come to be associated with the various exercises, stretches, and purifying techniques that can be found in most gyms and yoga studios. In the past, yoga was mostly associated with people of the various religious orders and sects, secret societies, and ascetics that roamed about the Earth: and it is still associated with these groups. However in our western society, yoga is not secret. It is practiced openly and freely. It is practiced in parks and field grounds in the summer time. It is practiced on television for talk shows and the respective audiences. It is practiced at big conferences and seminars abound in order to introduce new practitioners to the beautiful practice, and to impress upon the advanced practitioners the advancement and the evolution of the practice itself.

Your Body, Your Creation | MOLD YOURSELF TO THAT BODY YOU WANT TO SEE

By Dominick H.

When we break through the womb of the mother and penetrate into this earthly existence, we are born absolutely perfect. All of our bodies come in different shapes, sizes, and colors at birth. Both nature and nurture play a major role in the configuration of our body types. So technically, it is not entirely possible for us to look exactly like another child from another womb: this is truly divine perfection in manifestation. But because of all the possibilities and tendencies leading up to our birth, our bodies are subject to a variety of circumstances that can affect us and how we live in the world. That affect is neither positive or negative, it just is. Positive and negative is only relevant to the environment and immediate surroundings. So what may be good here, may be bad elsewhere: and vice versa.

Better Breathing, Better Living | SMALL CHANGES TO STRENGTHEN THE LUNGS

By Dominick H.

It happens to many of us quite often that we tend to struggle with our breathing. We tend to find this occurring when going up a flight of stairs, or simply when we are exercising, stretching, or doing any other physical activities. But breathing restrictions can easily be remedied by making some small changes in the diet. What we eat on a daily basis can have a major impact not only on our breathing, but on our entire lives. And because every action we partake in has a reaction, it is very important for us to be mindful and aware of everything we put into our bodies. We must learn to treat our bodies as sacred, holy, and sensitive systems that are constantly in tune with nature. So it is ideal to maintain a balanced intake of all things.
